Privacy Policy

We do not store your DNA
This product is designed so that your raw DNA file and genotype data are processed only on your device, in your browser. We do not upload, receive, host, or keep a copy of your DNA file on our servers.
When you close or refresh the page, in-memory analysis results are discarded unless you export them yourself (for example as a PDF saved on your device).
What stays in the browser
The following happen locally on your device:
- Reading and parsing your DNA export file
- Matching curated markers and estimating heritage proportions
- Generating a PDF report in your browser
When you open ChatGPT or Gemini
Optional “Ask AI” / summarize buttons open ChatGPT or Google Gemini (including Google AI Studio) in a new tab and can send a text prompt that includes curated finding summaries (titles, rsIDs, genotypes shown in the app, and related notes).
That text is processed by those third-party providers under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not control how they store or use the prompt. Your full raw DNA file is not uploaded by this app to those services — only the text included in the prompt you choose to send.
If you do not want any finding text to leave your device, do not use the ChatGPT or Gemini buttons.
Analytics and advertising
If Google Analytics and/or Google AdSense are configured, they run only after you opt in via the cookie banner (separately for analytics and advertising). They are not used to transmit your DNA file or genotype results. You can change or withdraw consent anytime via Cookie settings in the footer. Rejecting advertising means AdSense scripts and ad units are not loaded.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the product after an update means you accept the revised policy.
